TfTD

The picture is a site that I jogged pass, this morning. The tents and the military-looking vehicles are places where they are setting up to test for the virus. I stayed 20 feet away from the only two joggers that I saw and I also stayed away from the tents.

My TfTD is that this is probably the cleanest that America has been in a century. Several months ago, I wrote a blog called, “America is Nasty,” but I thought better about publishing it because it is never my purpose insult anybody but to try to do some good. America remains one of my loves. I still stand and salute the flag and I sing the patriotic songs.

Surely, we have been in public bathrooms and seen people walk pass the sink without even a glimpse. And then we have seen people turn on the water for a half a second without any soap whatever. So, I wanted to highlight the need to clean up our physical behaviors. It turns out that I did not have to publish it because it appears that God has caused America to be more clean conscious. I am not saying that this is the reason God allowed it, but it is an affect.

Also, in as much as there is a need to clean up our physical lives, there is a greater need to clean up our spiritual lives. Jesus is the one who does that. It starts with hearing His Word and embracing Him. John 5:23 says:

“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.”

Don’t listen to the man in the White House. It is time for responsible leadership. It is not time to go back to work yet. Let us continue to watch, pray and be clean. And by all means, look to God while supporting each other as much as we can. When we do that, God will honor it. I love you to life, not to death.

  1. Hi Perry – great post. When I am doing housework, which I enjoy, I often meditate on Psalm 51 : ‘ Create in me a clean heart, O Lord’.
Just wondering : What does TfTD stand for ? 🤗

    1. Yes. That’s great Psalm. I know it was a request by David, which occurred during a time when David surely needed it. I am also glad that yu asked the question about TfTD. It stands for, “Thought For the Day”. And it occurred by what I call, “A beautiful accident.” I originally abbreviated as TFTD and one of our church members replied back to me with a typo in it. Instead of wrint TFTD she wrote TfTD, and I thought it was so neat that I continued to use it. Then I was surprised to go on twitter and found out that hundreds of people are now using it.
