I appreciate the manner in which you are conducting the podcasts. While I make every attempt to watch my language (I don’t mean profanity), it is important that we all try to be clear and accurate when we speak. When I say watch my language, I am talking about not using self defeating terms like pet peeve. Nonetheless I am bothered when you go to people who should speak the truth and do not ever do so. As you started your pre pod commentary, you mentioned a few names that I heard the now dearly departed comedian Bernie Mack talk about. He said that there are nationally known figures, who are pastors, that he has never heard even utter the name of Jesus. Yes, he mentioned Al Sharpton. So when I heard you talk about everyone’s views on the lead politicians in Virginia, everyone plays the judgement game. I am not saying that these men are innocent angels, but I would love to see what some of these people did in college. I had a hard time watching the move Skool Daze.

More importantly, you are giving people the number one perspective that should be given when it comes to studying the bible. First of all what happened, when did it happen, why did it happen, who did it happen to or with, and what was the result. Of course we can all be general and say because of these things we are all saved. One of the problems that we also have is that we don’t know the true meaning of the words “saved” and “free”. My father used to warn us that “You ain’t free as a breeze to do what you please”. Many bible toting Christians believe that they are. I see some of them on the parking lot of some of the biggest churches around. They have to have security on the lots because many of them feel that they are free as a breeze to do what they please. Many of them need to read Jeremiah 7 because they feel that they can come into the sanctuary and do what they please. We won’t even talk about what they say.

The point is that even though I have been out of sight lately, I am not out of mind. I am still praying that it won’t take another major catastrophe that hits people in the chops before we realize that all of us are participating in some things that are killing us. There are others that came after Jesus and made sacrifices to help to set us free and we are still asleep. This is not just the people who attend “Bedside Baptist”. This is all of us who do things with their version of justification. I thank you for doing your part to keep God’s word alive.

    Heh My Friend.

    Good to hear from you.

    1. Yes. Bernie Mac was the bomb, wasn’t he? The bomb, meaning he was awesome. His very name spurs hilarity. He was truly one of the kings of comedy, not in name only, but he could bring the house down with his art.

    2. Yes. I too try to watch my language so as not to purposefully offend anyone even though I know that the gospel does offend people. Yes. Al Sharpton and I disagree sharply on his opinions regarding the governor of Virginia. After all, who’s past could stand the test of scrutiny, so I believe we need to look at what the governo has done since the pictures.

    3. Free as a breeze to do what they please. Hmmm! Good statement. I said to someone last night that just because I did something does not mean that it is right and I call it what it is, i.e., “wrong”, and I think we in the Church need to stop excusing the behavior and then the road to repentance and forgiveness begins.

    4. Version of justification. A professor of mine told us regarding our approach to the Bible that we come to the Bible with a grid that is already shaped and we read the Bible through that grid and make it fit what we want it to say. He said we need to throw that grid away and let the Bible shape our grid and then we begin the road of allowing the Bible to shape our thinking. That is my approach to the Bible Revival Hour.

    5. I appreciate your comments and though I did not detect any criticisms, I want you to know that I do welcome constructive criticisms. It is one of the ways that can allow me to perfect my communication skills. I am having fun with the Bible Revival Hour and I do wonder if anybody is listening and if anyone is being reached for Christ and if anybody is being helped, but I just keep putting it out there and praying.

PS: One of your comments deals with a TfTD that I hope to publish before days end. It is regarding people feeling like they are free to do whatever they please and they use the verse that says that I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. Can’t wait to put it out there.

    Good to hear from you.
