Simply put: we need a Bible Revival.
Quite a few surveys including one from the Barna Group, recently revealed that an increasing number of christians do not read the Bible.
I would say that a much smaller number actually study their Bible.
Shall I Go on? A much smaller number of Christians believe it is infallible.
Shall I go on? Fewer Christians practice it.
Most preachers do not really and truly focus on the Word when it comes to preaching.
We need a Bible revival.
in 2 Kings 22 & 23 they found the lost books and they had a revival as King Josiah led the charge.

Comment from a friend. Without going through the long story, I have been going to a church on either the first or fifth Sunday as one of many churches that I have been visiting. The church is C______ U______ Church, which is located in DC. Without going through my connection with that church, I appreciate the fact that the gentleman who leads the adult Sunday school actually causes you to study the scriptures the way they were intended to be studied. These are not movie characters. These are the people that God put here before us. It clears up things that a lot of people don’t even discuss.

Both my pain and my pleasure was to graduate from the Washing Bible College and attend Capital Bible Seminary, now Lancaster Bible College. This was no Howard Divinity school which is a school of “religion” or Virginia Union either, both of which I believe furnish a fairly good theological education. But the Washington Bible College\Capital Bible Seminary focused on what the Word says and what it means by what it says. It is sad that the average Christian does appear to have that same focus. Two weeks ago I taught a seminar on how to do that ….. It is sad that the majority of Christians don’t study and therefore don’t focus on the Word and I suspect that this is due in large part to the Christian leaders. Not everyone has the same gifts. Some pastors are theologians who have great theological brain power where others are just magnificent examples of Christian, Biblical behavior, but whatever the gift, we must use them. The problem of lack of biblical focus is one that saturates the Church like water in a sponge.

From a friend. Wow. I didn’t know that I was that much on point. I was hoping that I was wrong.

Comment to a friend. I wish you were wrong but you are not and I wish I was wrong in my assessment of the church but I don’t think I am.
