Let’s look at this. We are talking about the top fifth earning more than the bottom 4/5ths in the early eighties. Look at where we are just 3 decades later. Something like 1/2 of 1% earning more than the other 99 1/2%. Dangerous!!! As this continues the plurality of our population will be in a position where we will have to accept whatever crumbs they (the power structure) decides to throw our way (like on a plantation). Is this what we want as American citizens? We need to acknowledge the fact that the new tax laws that were recently passed created somewhere in access of 17 trillion dollars. (From my understanding), their laws being permanent, while the minimal benefits of the middleclass, average, and poor are only temporary.
Actually, the first slaves or indentured servants that arrived in Jamestown were
English prisoners working off prison time. Later, other slaves or indentured servants who were black arrived. There really shouldn’t be an us against them. Its the rich verses the middle, average, and poor. If you go back enough years you would find there were no black or white issues. There was and still should be one race. “The human race.“ That being said, let’s get out and VOTE!!! Vote for adequate housing, the right to vote, better education, more aggressive polution policies, to prevent us from slipping into a 3rd world country, vote to keep enemies with power around the world from controlling our success and well-being. Remember, Albert Einstein said this world is a dangerous place to live in not because of the people that do evil but, because of the people that sat back and let it happen.
