A LIFE-CHANGING JOURNEY

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, “20teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matt. 28:19-20)
We are told to go into all the world and present the good news of Jesus Christ and most of us do not do enough outreach. But tonight, we do not have to go out because they come to us. What a wonderful opportunity.
Halloween can be a good time to witness. Before the kids come to our doors, we still have time to run out to the local bookstore and get some gospel tracts. Read them first so that we are familiar with the contents, then give them to the children. We can give the children some candy and put a gospel tract or a bulletin from our churches for their parents to read in the bag, put a smiley face on it, plant a Biblical seed that can change someone’s eternal destiny.
Many Christians do not participate in Halloween, but I thought about it, and I realized that Satan uses Church activities all the time so it seems reasonable to me that we can use an event like Halloween to promote the Gospel. Christians do not have to celebrate Halloween, but we can use it to witness and change someone’s destiny.
Think of it. Halloween could be the night that someone receives Christ. And always remember to pray before you serve.

Thank you. Glad to be back in the “fold” 🙂

Great TfTD! I don’t like Halloween at all, but what a wonderful idea to make it an opportunity to promote the Good News!
I hope all is very well there.

You are welcome. Frankly, I say that Halloween is what you make it. It can be no better and no worst than Christmas, with the Christmas Tree deeply rooted in paganism and with the Christmas PARTIES, with loud music, drunkeness, and celebrating with pretty enticing sexual dances and sometimes leaving the parties illicit rendevous’, which have nothing to do with Christ, ot to mention the commercialism born out of greed. So I see Halloween as no better and no worst depending on what we make of them. I will concede that in this day of blatant satanism that we perhaps cannot afford to play with things like Halloween, but I do suggest, and I saw that yuo got my point about it being a great opportunity to be a witness. Ultimately it is not abuot what yuo or I don’t like but abuot reaching people with the Gospel of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
I had the advantage of having very fond memories of Halloween with me and my 20 some cousins and brothers and sisters, not to mention a host of friends. We could afford to go to the store and purchase costumes, but it was more fun to dress up, but the beauty of it was that we did it together and every door that we knocked on, we knew that it was the door of an adult who meant nothing but good for the children. Unlike today where the churches have switched from Halloween to All Saints Day, and they have All kinds of yuoth clubs in the Church and the Church is actually worse off today than it was back in the 50’s. Anyway, I know you get the point. When I think about the one thing that helped me straighten out my life, as a 19 year old, it wasn’t the psychological counseling, the higher education which I achieved or the resolutions to do better, all of which was good, but it was the day that I came to Christ amd it changed my destiny and my current living situation. We should use whatever legitimate means necessary to introduce people to the God who can change lives.
