Have you ever wondered what you can do for your loves ones?
Here is advice from the greatest sermon ever preached from the great Man who ever lived. He said:
“Let your light shine — so that men may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matt. 5:16)
In other words, let your light shine to the degree that others can see that light and be so inspired by it that they too begin to let their lights shine the way you do.
Light is clearly our good works because He first calls it, “light” and then He calls them, “good works”. When we are unable to get to our beloveds to provide the kind of support that we want to give them, we surely want to bring them to a place where they too learn to rely on God. The way to do that is to let our light shine to the point where they see it and are inspired enough to embrace it.
I will never forget the phone call that I made to my dad, God rest his soul. He and mom were worried about me because my life was in turmoil. One day I called him and told him that he didn’t didn’t have to worry about me anymore because I saw the light and I embraced it. For years, they had let their light shine and I saw it and ever day that I can I try let mine shine.
It’s one of the best things we can do for our loved ones.
By the way, the photograph was taken from the livingroom of my brother’s home and I evidently took it at just right time to the rays coming through the window.

I pasted a comment from a reader. Feb. 17th:
I just wish more people saw messages like this. I’m not talking about the fact that you wrote it I am talking about the people who receive no encouragement at all and don’t know what positive is.

It is good to get some encouragement some time isn’t it? I know that my father was happy when I told him how he and mom’s light had affected me so positively that I finally embraced it. The light that they let shine has taken me through many a storm, some of which had reached volcanic proportions. I think it was good to let people know it when it happens. Actually, whenever I find myself on the victorious side of some great achievement I find myself saying, “Dad, I wish you were still here to see this.”
