PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE!

Don’t tell me what I need to hear. Tell me what I want to hear. Okay.  Here goes.

1. You are not overweight.
2. You look great.
3. You’re the best thing since apple pie.
4. You are all that and a bag chips. You know you are slamming.
5. Nobody’s got it like you.
6. And you are so clever.
7. You are th best mother\father in the world.
8. You sing great.
9. You preach better tham Bishop T.D. Jakes.
10. You are right and everybody else is wrong.

By the way, here are a few others:

11. God loves your lifestyle.
12. The wages of sin is not death.
13. The gift of God is not eternal life thru Jesus Christ.
14. All you have to do is die to get to heaven and all of your boos are going to be up there.
15. Last week, homeboy didn’t go to hell.  He went home to be with the Lord just like it said in the newspaper.
16. Oh, and that book with 66 other books in it.  It’s not inspired by God.  It’s not important. Don’t read it.
17. Finally, God did not love the world. He did not give His only Son. It is a fable created to keep people enslaved.

Think about it.  The majority of us listen to the same radio show, same talk show, we attend the same Church and we even have the same  facebook friends because they tell us what we want to hear and not what we need to hear.

I appreciate people who tell me what I need to hear because it takes an awful lot of love.  I told my cousin about my feelings about the current politics.  I did not like what he said, but I really appreciate the fact that he told me what I needed to hear.  He said, “You are ni a bad place and you need to get out of there.” I contended with him a bit but I knew he was right and I appreciated that it came from him.
