The term "Orthodox unorthodoxy" aptly encapsulates my identity. While my ministry style and trajectory may deviate from traditional norms, my academic foundations and belief systems remain firmly rooted in orthodoxy.
My journey of faith began in an apartment in southeast Washington, where I embraced Christ and subsequently accepted a call to ministry, starting my preaching in March of 1978. My educational pursuits have taken me through several esteemed institutions, including Prince George's Community College, Washington Bible College, Capitol Bible Seminary, Taylor University, and Crown Christian College, where I earned an Associate of Arts degree, a Bachelor’s degree, and a Master’s degree in Christian Studies.
Throughout my ministry, I have pastored New Second Baptist Church in Washington, D.C., and Life Step Baptist Ministries in Lanham, Maryland. I am deeply passionate about reaching individuals, particularly those who are successful and content without God, as they often go unnoticed. My eclectic ministry style has naturally evolved as I sought to connect with this demographic.
In recent years, I have held various roles, including Moderator, First Vice Moderator, Director of Christian Education, and Vice President of the Missionary Society of the Shenandoah Valley Baptist Union Association. I have also contributed to the literary community by writing the final chapter of the book "Baptimergent," edited by Zach Roberts and published by Smyth and Helwys Publishing, available on Amazon.com.
In my personal life, I enjoy a range of hobbies, including playing the piano, guitar, and clarinet, roller-skating, and skiing. However, my greatest fulfillment comes from helping others deepen their spiritual journeys with God.
My family is at the core of my life, alongside my devotion to Almighty God. My wife, Betty, and I take great pride in our four successful, intelligent, and remarkable adult children.
