TfTD – A Word Christmas!

This morning I found myself wondering how many people are actually having a Word Christmas.  I thought about it because I know that it is possible to have some of the ingredients of a Word Christmas without the full package.  Many of us are loaded down with gifts, family and friends without having Christmas according to the God’s Word. We can even have a worship service and still not have a Word Christmas.  The Word Christmas can located in the Word of God; and Isaiah 9:6 is one of many places to find it.

Isaiah says, “unto us,” twice.  God is giving us something and He emphasizes it by saying it twice.  He says:

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given….”

This is a gift that God extended far beyond Jewish boundaries.  It was a gift to everybody, transcending times and circumstances.  And without this gift there is no Word Christmas.  To put it plainly, “No Gift, No Christmas.”

The gift is a child but it is a special child.  Isaiah says that His name shall be called, “Wonderful.”  He is called wonderful because that is who He is.  What about you?  What do the people who know you, call you?  To wonder is to think or speculate curiously; to ponder and be filled with admiration and amazement.  People do not wonder at something if they do not connect with it.  Moses was filled with wonder when he looked at the burning bush and he connected with it.  Wonder requires spirit.

Therefore, in order to have a Word Christmas we must have the Spirit that ponders Christmas.  By the way, I am not Catholic.  There is a lot that I do not agree with regarding Catholicism.  I do not wish to insult my Catholic friends.  However, I absolutely love seeing the Catholic mass on television at Christmas.  They make a big fuss about God during the mass and my God is worthy all the fuss.  When I see the priests in all of their regalia coming down the isle swinging the containers of incense with the smoke rising from the containers and the choir singing praises to God, my spirit says, “Gone witcha bad self.  My God is worthy of all of that.”

Gifts, family, friends, and the Spirit of gratitude to God for bringing Jesus into our lives make for a Word Christmas.

Having Christ in your life is the first step to having a Word Christmas.  To do that simply repent of your former ungodly ways and ask Christ into your life and mean it and He will save you.  Do not let this year pass without making that decision and He will change your life in some very powerful ways.

And may you have a very Merry Word Christmas!
