A Thanksgiving Tribute to Mrs. Lebowitz

People come and go in our lives and they leave their mark on us.  Mrs. Lebowitz was a Jewish woman who taught at Elliot Jr. High School in the northeast corridor of DC.  She taught music and I was fortunate enough to sing in her choir.  I am sure that only eternity can reveal how valuable she was to me as a dedicated teacher.  She taught us this song and I lead our Church every year in singing it.  It is in tribute to her.  It is called, “Now Thank We All Our God”.

What you presented goes far beyond the perception that we have of Thanksgiving. I keep thinking about people in our everyday lives, whether it be in the neighborhood, school, or work that seldom if ever get recognized until they are gone. So I am authorizing a thank you contest. Of course we must always thank God. None if us would “be” without him. But I asking that we start recognizing those angels that God placed in our presence no matter what.

    1. Amen Brother! I think that your suggestion of a, “thank you” contest is good enough to post as a reply, which I am doing right now. Expressions of gratitude is like the gift that keeps on giving. So, come on readers. Who are you thankful to?

I also thank my wife for putting up with me and I am grateful to God for her.
