Apart from the solitary moments that I enjoy immensely, the greatest times that I have ever had is always due to great people. The greatness is not necessarily about the times or the places but about the stuff that God has poured into the people. God puts it in them and they, in turn, allow His essence to shine.
We were recently on a cruise. We have arguably been on better cruises and better ships but no better people. I went snuba diving. I figured out that the word, “snuba” is a cross between, “snorkel”, and, “scuba”. None of the 20 people in our group went diving with me. I dove with strangers. The strangers turned out to be great people. After the dive, I would see them on the ship and we would have the greatest conversations about our experiences. A little Bible Study is in order here.
Romans 12:1
A recognition of greatness.
The greatness is already in us because we are made in the image of God according to Genesis 1:26.
An expansion of greatness.
That greatness is expanded when we come to Christ according to Romans 12:1 and present ourselves in service to Him. He in turn, transforms us. Remember: He does not want conformity but transformity.
Finally, I have a book written by Rev. Chuck Swindoll called, “Great Days With Great Lives”. It is a devotional book and in each case, the great days in each life that he writes about were due to each person presenting themselves to God as living sacrifices and allowing His essence to shine through them.
I encourage the reader to do that. Have a great day.
