A Wonderful Life

One of my all time favorite movies is, “It’s A Wonderful Life”. I watch it every year at Christmas time and sometimes I watch it in the middle of the year.

It is based on a man who did not like his life. He was stuck in a town that he did not want to be in, living in a house that he did not care for, working a job that he did not want to do while everyone else seemed to be faring sumptuously. An angel was dispatched from God to show him how wonderful his life actually was.

It turns out that the wonder of his life was based upon the service that he gave to others. The angel enabled him to see that if he had not risked his life to save his little brother, thousands of lives would have been lost in World War II because his brother became a war hero. Also, had he not worked the job that he hated, hundreds would have continued to live in broken down homes, existing in squalor, being exploited by rich opportunist. God opened his eyes and when his eyes were opened he was able to see that it was his service to others that made his life so wonderful. It was the quality and the service that he poured into the lives of others.

I ask you, “How wonderful is your life?”

Matthew 25:35-40 is a good supporting Scripture for this TfTD.
