Power Tools – Part 1

I have been preaching a series of messages called, “Power Tools”. It is based on the fact that when a person becomes a christian he becomes equipped with a set of power tools. Take a scrawny person, put a power tool in his or her hands, suddenly, they become forces to be reckoned with. The thought itself is empowering.

When I began what I thought was just one message turned into a series of messages with God being the first power tool.

God is like a power tool.  We call Him what He is known for in the same way that we call boxers what they are named for.  We call Mike Tyson, “Iron Mike Tyson”, Joe Frazier, “Smoking Joe Frazier”, and we call our God, “Almighty God”. “Almighty” is a combination of the two words, “all”, and, “mighty”. “All”, connects His sovereignty with His power. He has complete and full power everywhere, all the time, which means that He has power to help us face the difficulties that we must face today as well as power to live the christian life which is a life that is above our natural abilities and tendencies.

David, the son of Jesse lived above his natural abilities when he faced Goliath because he had Almighty God as a constant presence in his life. Need I say more. I think you get the point.

Share this with someone that you want to win to Christ. Almighty God can be a constant, and present power tool in their lives.  It changes lives.
