TfTD Entitled, “When I Was Growing Up”.

I was just thinking that when I was growing up we had 4 TV channels to watch and we were thoroughly entertained. We had channel 4, 5, 7 and 9. We didn’t even have channel 20. It came much later. Today the average one of us has 150 to 200 channels to watch and we are often bored stiff. Saturday night was a particularly fun time to watch it because there was a good Saturday night lineup. There was, The Grand’Ole Opry, the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour, and programs like, Sherman Hemsley’s, “Amen”, came a little bit later in the 90s, but I think the thing that made it so entertaining is that most families had one TV and we watched it together.

Togetherness, I believe, is the key. I think the reason that we made so much progress is that we did a lot together. We had a little huose and a big garden and a lot of garden land and, again, the reason we made so much progress is because all of us made it work and we made it work together.

Again, the key is togetherness. We should never allow life to push us so far apart that we cannot come together and do it frequently.
