Wisdom – The Best Bet For The Best Outcome

The great majority of us want to achieve the best outcomes for ourselves, our children, our churches, etc. etc. In ancient Greek language it is called, “phronimos” and it refers to practical wisdom. It is a God-given quality of wisdom which enables us to achieve the best outcomes in a given situation. That is what this thought for the day is about.

I was walking my daughter’s dog, in the park the other day when I happened upon a man sitting on the ground in handcuffs with two policemen standing over him. The man addressed me saying, “Sir, you see what they are doing to me and I ain’t do nothing.” I told him that his his best bet was to do whatever they told him to do. The policemen seemed to appreciate what I told him and as I kept walking, they responded with these words: “That’s all we ask.” His best bet for the best outcome was to cooperate. Anything else would not have been in his best intrest. Practical wisdom will usher us through some very difficult times as it enables us to achieve the best outcomes in some very difficult situations.

Jesus grew in wisdom and one way for it to grow is to keep trying it. Keep putting it to the test and the more we see that it works, the more we will want to use it and that frequent use of it will cause us to grow in it.

I hope this TFtD helps you in growth oddessey.
