This is not my thought for the day, but it is my desire that everyone be informed; so I came across this link while I was preparing for this Sunday’s sermon and I thought I would consult John MacArthur to see what he said about the name-it-and-claim-it gospel. It is a long article but well worth reading. https://www.gty.org/library/sermons-library/90-63M/toxic-television-a-biblical-answer-to-the-prosperity-gospel-part-1.

And we wonder why people drive by and don’t come in.

I trashed your other comment because it was not clear at least to me. However, I do not wonder, as you said, why people do not in because I think I know at least one of the reasons. Much of what goes on inside is really not helpful and does not make a lot of sense to me. The goal at our Church is to foster authentic relationships with God and each other and I am sure that we fall short, but we do try. Some of the greatest people that I have ever met were very high achievers who frequently took the time to demonstrate that they valued people, regardless of race, or position at work or in society in general.
