Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to everyone!

I play the piano and during this Christmas season, I have been benefitting from the messages that are in the music. These deeply spiritual messages, especially the ones in the old hymns, brings me back, again and again, to where I am supposed to be and perhaps, to where each of us need to be.

In a world of pressing concerns of every description, I literally use the music to self-medicate. As you know, the purpose of medication is to assist us in healing.

Think of the healing messages in them.

Silent night.

Silent night. Holy night. All is calm and all is bright. Who among us could not use some silence after a long and difficult day? The word, “Holy”, means, “pure”, as in, pure thoughts pure messages with no deception. Who could stand to have more purity of messages in their lives?

Joy to the World

Joy to the world. The Lord is come. Who could use some joy right about now? As I play the verses of this song over and over, my joy increases, and with each verse, and I usually add an additional organ sound to it verse. But the joy that is spoken of in these verses are for a very special reason and that is, that the Lord has come. Think of the times that we prayed about something and the Lord shows up in answer to our prayer. His appearance in the situation is the very reason for the joy.

Deck The Halls.

Then there are the festive times when we want to deck the halls, the livingrooms, the churches and the offices with boughs of holly and just sing something that doesn’t make sense to anyone but us, and that is, “Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la.”

God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen

And who among us does not need the kind of rest that only God can give?

God rest ye merry, gentlemen
Let nothing you dismay
Remember, Christ, our Saviour
Was born on Christmas day
To save us all from Satan’s power
When we were gone astray
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy

The message of that song is clear. God came to save us all from Satan’s power. He saves us when we commit our lives and our living to Him. Romans 10:9&10 says that if we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, He will save us.

If you want more information and\ or guidance with that, please reply using the domment box below and I will be glad to do whatever I can to help uou.

God bless.

PS: Actually, throughout the years, my favorite is still, “O Come All Ye Faithful.”. All of us ought to be able to appreciate the faithfulness of God in our lives.
