Wisdom

Wisdom tempers the things that we want to do with the things that we should do. The Bible clearlysays that He leads us and guides us into all truth.
“”But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.”
It is also my experience that the Holy Spirit has the power to lead us and guide us to do the things that we should do. It stands to reason that anything that God wants us to do, He provides the agency (power) to get it done. That agency is the Holy Spirit. It is not totally automatic. He does provide leadership into a wisdom-filled journey, but we must follow His leadership in order for it to work. It is not automatic.
In my sermon last week I stated that I wanted to knock someone’s block off for being stupid and almost causing an accident but wisdom said, “Leave it alone.” It was up to me to follow the Holy Spirit’s leading or leave it alone. It was not automatic. I left it alone aand I felt good about myself when I did it.
I love it when Biblical concepts show up in practical situations.
