Being brutally honest will not make me a popular person, but then again, “Who knows?” It might because the high ideals that use to sit in seats of sanctification and reverence in our society have been seriously and unfortunately challenged by baser instincts.
It sounds cliche-ish and those who know me know that I shy away from cliche’s but I do have to remind myself to hate the bigotry but love the bigot. Anyway, it is not about personal popularity and they say the truth is the light — another cliche’ that I happen to believe in — so here is a bit of truth.
Who would have ever thought that bigotry would ascend the heights that it has in our country? The awful truth is that it did so with widespread support. I mean, “Come on!” Rapists? Murderers? and drug dealers?
If this TfTD creates an “us against them” posture then delete it. That is not the intent. The intent is simply to encourage all of us and to remind us that God is bigger than bigoTRY. Psalm 139:1-6 is a good reminder of that He is bigger than our thoughts, bigger than our possibilities, bigger than our circumstances and He is bigger than bigotry. It says:
7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
