It is about 28 degrees in my neighborhood. I went downstairs and I discovered some very, very cold air coming through the door downstairs when I thought, “Forget pretty”, let me plug this hole up, so I cut up some old cloth and started filling in the cracks. It is not pretty but it did the job.
I then pictured a woman in a blizzard all covered up. In the summer she is in her finest attire accentuating all her talents, but when it gets this cold she forget pretty an takes care of her need to be warm. Human need causes us to forget pretty and do what we have to do.
That is exactly what God did. He forgot pretty. He renounced pretty.

He took off His robe of royalty. He was born in a stable. He was kept warm by the rags that they used to wipe the animal with. He forgot pretty and endured the ugliness of crucifixion. He died and rose with victory in His hands and victory for all us who receive Him as Savior.
